Ouija: Origin of Evil Review by Kristine Knowlton
As most sequels go, they blow. However for “Ouija: Origin of Evil” this was not the case. I am one for the original of course, but this one delivered all it was and then some. Let’s revisit the trailer:
Even if you have not seen the original “Ouija” you are in luck with this prequel! You don’t have to know anything about the original movie to watch “Ouija: Origin of Evil”. In fact, I would say if you have never seen the original, you should start with this one. You will not get lost at all.
I stated before that most sequels blow – not this one. Since “Ouija: Origin of Evil” is a prequel, it made the original “Ouija” even better! Tons of scares and on the edge of your seat moments. I would hate to say that I hope they come out with another one in the series which could either make it real good as the first two, or it could destroy them all.
Stay tuned for our next review and preview of Marvel’s “Doctor Strange”.
I know what most of you are thinking “Oh come on! Not another Ouija movie!?! Make is stop!!!”
In all realty and being a horror film freak, I am looking forward to seeing “Ouija: Origin of Evil”. I think it looks to be a great prequel to the 2014 “Ouija”, which I also didn’t think was half bad. There are so many remakes not to mention so many involving the Ouija Board that just the shear sound of the word “Ouija” makes people cringe.
Here is the full synopsis from IMDb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4361050/
“In 1965 Los Angeles, a widowed mother and her two daughters add a new stunt to bolster their seance scam business and unwittingly invite authentic evil into their home. When the youngest daughter is overtaken by a merciless spirit, the family confronts unthinkable fears to save her and send her possessor back to the other side.”
Looking forward to:
– Learning more of the origin of the original movie “Ouija”
– Lin Shaye is in it (love her)
– This looks better then the first movie “Ouija” which is odd to say about a sequel
